I recently printed some black and white 35mm film photographs of Dublin in my home darkroom and the prints will be for sale at the Ha’Penny Flea Market – The Grand Social (35 Lower Liffey St, Dublin) on Saturday 31st of January (from 12 till 6). And if you’re interested in joining the street photography course I’ll be teaching in the Darkroom at Block T from Tuesday 3rd of February (more info here), you can come into the market and I’ll be happy to give you firsthand information about it there! (To register for this course please email info@darkroom.ie.)

Analogue 2 Exhibition – continued!

I’m delighted the Block T Darkroom has selected this photograph of mine, along with other work from the Analogue 2 exhibition by Block T students, to be on show in Third Space Cafe till the 6th of September. I took this image in Dun Laoghaire in February 2014, as part of my Five streets project in 35mm black and white film. It was hand printed by myself in the Block T Darkroom on Fibre Based paper and is a first print of a limited edition of 30. The 12 x 9½ inch is in a 30×40 cm frame and is for sale for €120, 25% of this amount going to local charity Capuchin Day Centre who feed the poor on 29 Bow street.

Irish Street Photography exhibition 15-22 August

I was very excited to take part in the first Irish Street Photography Exhibition with this image I took on Francis street, Dublin, in June 2014 (the wonderful street art is by Solus). The exhibition took place from the 15th to the 22nd of August in Culture Box, Temple Bar, Dublin (more details in facebook event). I was also really delighted to have this image featured in the Art Photo Feature Magazine Finest Street Photography Gallery back in June, many thanks to the APF team for selecting my photograph! This photograph is currently on display in the Yoga Hub, 27 Camden Place, Dublin.

Scoop Art Charity Auction 2014

I’m very happy to be contributing a limited edition silver gelatin print of my work ‘Shadows at Harold’s Cross’ to the Scoop Foundation Art Charity Auction 2014 for education and community development in India and Cambodia. The launch party will be at Film Base (Temple Bar, Dublin) from 5.30pm on Friday June 13th and the auction will take place there on Saturday 14th at 2pm. This is the third year I’m participating in this charity and I’m delighted the proceeds from the sale of my photograph will be helping a very worthy cause.

Harold’s Cross Festival 2014 exhibition and photowalk

Looking forward to this year’s Harold’s Cross Festival, in which I’ve curated and mounted a group exhibition of photographs of Harold’s Cross taken by participants of all levels and ages in last year’s photowalk. The exhibition runs from the 3rd to the 11th of May at the Black Apple Cafe and also includes some photographs of the area taken at other times by different people, like this canal reflection I took in 2012, and an art exhibit by local artist Peter Price. The photowalk this year is on Sunday 11th of May and starts from 11 am at Mount Argus Park, more info here.

Gallerisso Exhibition: ‘Blurred Moments’

Very excited with my exhibition in Galerisso, titled ‘Blurred Moments’, opening on 14th March 2014 and closing on the 16th of May. In this online exhibition I’m presenting a series of photographs in which by the movement of a digital camera in my hands I try to give a feeling of a scene before my eyes. Although most of my street photography is of a more realistic nature I occasionally feel the urge to capture the energy and dynamism of a moment in this way. I hope you like them!

Scoop Foundation Art Charity Auction 2013

I’m very happy to be contributing my work ‘Morning Breeze’ to the Scoop Foundation Art Charity Auction 2013 for education and community development in India and Cambodia. The launch party will be at Film Base (Temple Bar, Dublin) from 6.30pm on Friday the 11th of October and the auction will take place there on Saturday 12th of October at 2pm. This is the second year I’m participating in this charity and I’m delighted the proceeds from the sale of my photograph will be helping a very worthy cause.
